Even the most experienced lacrosse athletes need to improve their stick skills as much as possible. New athletes need basic touches, but experienced athletes also need touches in more advanced ways. Being able to control the ball in your stick in all ways, catching and throwing in various positions, building catch radius, catch percentage, non-dominant hand, shooting and passing at all levels along with the correct footwork is crucial in competing at the highest level. These skills cannot be addressed adequately in a team practice setting because of the time they take from team activities, but they are critical in building highly competitive lacrosse athletes for the next level.
